Earthbound Fae

As the beautiful Moon slinks over the distant hills, she stands solitary and basks in the glorious silver shadow. The wind dances with her skirts around her dainty ankles and tickles her shoulders with wisps of hair. The luminous goddess beams down from the heavens and traces her skin with cool shadows. The night stills in readiness …. the critters of the forest cease to scamper and the birds to fly. She is left with nothing but the damp musk of night on her breathe and the glimmering silver from above. The moment has come. She raises her chalice upwards, offering it to the silver glory in the sky above. She stands with her sacrafice and waits for her answer. But the wind is still, the creatures are absent and she is done. The Moon has no reply but her continual glimmer of silver light. And so she remains alone, earthbound, with no kin but her silver companion. Wings which should carry her away remain unmoving as a single tear traces her cheek and falls to the silent Earth below.
